Stuff & Things Business Hours shows your opening hours and a live open/closed status anywhere on your site.
- Live status — “Open now” or “Closed”, with an optional detail like “Closes at 5:00 PM” or “Opens tomorrow at 9:00 AM”.
- Cache-safe & DST-safe — the status is recalculated in each visitor’s browser using your chosen timezone, so a cached page never shows the wrong status, and daylight-saving changes are handled automatically.
- Weekly hours with split hours per day (e.g. a lunch break).
- Timezone picker with a live clock in the admin so you can confirm it’s right.
- Holidays & special dates — mark days closed or set special hours, with a one-click “load common US holidays” helper.
- Temporary closure / vacation mode — show as closed for a holiday week or emergency without touching your schedule.
- Shortcodes + widget —
[open_now],[business_hours], and an “Stuff & Things Business Hours” widget. - Optional schema — output
openingHoursSpecificationJSON-LD for your site’s rich results.

Note on Google
The optional schema helps search engines understand your website. The hours shown in a Google Business Profile (the Search/Maps panel) are managed in that profile, not by site schema.
Installation
- Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin and choose the ZIP, or copy the
stuff-things-business-hoursfolder intowp-content/plugins/. - Activate the plugin.
- Go to Settings > Business Hours, set your timezone and hours, then place
[business_hours]on a page or add the widget.
FAQ

Will it show the wrong status if my page is cached?

No. The initial status is rendered on the server, then corrected in the visitor’s browser based on your timezone — so caching and daylight-saving time don’t break it.

Does it support hours past midnight?

Each time range is within a single day. For a lunch break, use the optional second range on that day. Hours that cross midnight are not supported in this version.

Can it update my Google Business Profile hours?

Not in this version. Google Business Profile hours are managed in your Google profile. This plugin controls what appears on your website and its schema.
