Install the plugin and enter your chatpod ai secret key 2. The plugin embeds the chatpod ai widget on every page of your store 3. Customers interact with your AI agent to find products, get support, and complete purchases ### External Services This plugin connects to the **chatpod ai** platform to provide AI chat functionality. The following external services are used: #### chatpod ai Backend API * **Service:** chatpod ai API (`https://api.chatpod-ai.com`) * **Purpose:** Fetches widget configuration, processes AI chat conversations, logs cart events, and handles automation webhooks (order events, status changes) * **Data sent:** Store URL, cart operations, order details (email, items, totals), WooCommerce session IDs. For a visitor who is signed in to your site, the chat request also carries a signed token describing them: their WordPress user ID, display name, email address and roles, and — if LearnDash is active — the titles and completion percentage of the courses they are enrolled in. Upload the `chatpod-ai` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/` or install via the WordPress plugin screen 2. Activate the plugin through the “Plugins” menu 3. Open the **chatpod ai** menu in your WordPress admin and enter your secret key ( starts with `cpd_sk_`) 4. Yes. The plugin connects your WooCommerce store to the chatpod ai platform, which provides the AI agent. Sign up at [chatpod-ai.com](https://chatpod-ai.com). ### Does the plugin work without WooCommerce? The chat widget itself will load on any WordPress site, so chatpod ai can still serve as a conversational assistant for service-based businesses. However, e-commerce features — cart integration, product search, order tracking, discount rules, and marketing automations — require WooCommerce to be installed and active. ### Can I customize the widget appearance? Yes. You can adjust the bubble position (horizontal and vertical offset) from the plugin settings page. Colors, avatar, and welcome messages are configured in your chatpod ai dashboard. ### What data is sent to chatpod ai? Cart operations, order details, and store URL are sent to the chatpod ai backend for AI processing and automation. If a visitor is signed in to your site, their WordPress display name, email address, roles and (with LearnDash) enrolled courses are also sent with their chat messages, so the agent can recognise them and answer as a known user. Logged-out visitors send none of this. See the “External Services” section for full details. ### Can I control what is sent about a signed-in user? Yes, in two ways. In the plugin settings, “Recognise signed-in users” turns the whole thing off, and every visitor is then treated as a guest.
